Flake Fun

The month of February started off with a nice trip to Smithfield.  We had fun seeing many of you and hope to see the rest of you soon.  The kids were able to go sledding for the first time which was really fun.

We spent many days cutting out hearts and doing Valentine crafts because the kids were so excited for it.  They were tickled to get their own little boxes of chocolates.

Not much progress has been made on the acreage (we really need a better name if anyone has suggestions.)

Robin went to her first daddy daughter dance last night which was delightful.

Scott sughested that we get 4 new chicks on a whim so we are back to chick raising! The kids are thrilled!

Love you all and hope that you have a great week.

Nilsson News

What happened to the month of February?!  It's only a couple days shorter than the other months and yet it seems to fly by much faster.

We enjoyed most recently a quick trip down to sunny St. George.  It's been a pretty warm winter but there is still a vast difference between 40 degrees and 65.  It was lovely!  Dane just couldn't get enough of the outside time and he didn't even need to wear a jacket.  We hiked, went swimming, and attended the Red Cliffs temple open house.  It was fun to see the Harts especially since we don't get the chance very often ;)  The trip gave us the hope for spring in the near future.

We celebrated Henry's ninth birthday this past week and Millie will be having her seventh birthday on Tuesday.  We've been battling some flu bugs which hasn't been fun.  I forget how long it lasts when everyone in the family passes it around!  Hopefully it won't last too much longer!  That's about it for this week!

Hart Happenings

The calendar turned and the Harts were off to the races!  It has been one thing after another.  The Spikeball Playoffs in Florida took over January and February.  3 days after we got home from that we dashed off to a soccer tournament down in St. George.  Jack and his team made it to the championship game and then won!  It was so fun and intense!  I lose at least 2 years of my life at this soccer tournament every year.  But the weather is glorious and we always look forward to it.  We got to meet up with Ruth and some of her kids who happened to be in St. George the same weekend, which was fun.

Ian got to go with us to Florida but had to miss out on the St. George adventure because he was busy choreographing and assistant directing a show that opened this past week.  He was also working on putting together audition videos for the Hale Center Theater and Pickleville Playhouse.  (He got call backs to both).

Peter had a good time this week attending the temple with some friends and then playing church basketball with them.  He loves being a deacon and going to activities every week.  At our homeschool co-op he is taking a magic class which has really piqued his interest and he has been practicing tricks everyday. He and Jack have been collaborating on some amazing engineering feats with Keva planks we brought home with us from our co-op last week.

Jack has been playing lots of soccer and Spikeball and has become Alex’s workout buddy.  He is reading a book about how Google works and telling us all about it.  He is getting some driving practice in and is quite a good driver.

I went down to Utah this week with a friend to find silk flowers to do all the bouquets and boutonnieres for Alex's niece's wedding this spring.  The warehouse is huge and filled with every imaginable flower, greenery, ribbon, berry, etc....It was overwhelming and I was glad to have my friend there to help me make the final selections.  It will be beautiful!  Lori, Grace, and Joy went on a preliminary scouting trip there a few weeks ago to see if they would have what we needed and we verified that they did indeed have absolutely anything and everything anyone would possible every need for wedding flowers.

We enjoyed spending some time with Mom and Dad when they came up for Addy's concert which was so fun.  Addy did a great job and is such a benefit to that choir.  Hanging out with Cam, Emma, and Stetson made us so happy.  We are definitely grateful that they moved closer and that we get to see them more often.

Hope all of you are surviving well and hope to see you soon!

Hyde Happinesses

Hello there!! This week. Well. I honestly forget what happened. But today was GREAT. Idk why. It was just a really good day hanging out with my boy. He’s a sweetie. Stetson just keeps getting more fun everyday. He says “up” “hep” (help), “hot” (he says this for everything… still trying to figure out what it means), and his newest and probably most used word is “Alllla” for Alexa, emphasis on the L 😂😂 he loves playing with our Alexa. Im really not sure how he gets her to do what she does 😅 He and Oakley have a sort of formal agreement that she tolerates him and he annoys her to death. He did learn how to shake her paw and give her a high five which brings him the most joy I’ve ever seen and she gets a treat out of it so they both win. We bought a little laser for her and he giggles and gurgles watching her run around to chase it.

Cam and I were able to go to an Aggie basketball game this week which was soooo fun. Mom and dad were champs as always and volunteered to “watch” Stetson who slept soundly the entire time. Man our parents are the very best!! Anyway it was really nice to get out and cheer and chant and watch the aggies win. It was a really good game! Both teams played really well and it was fun to watch. Aggies are a notoriously mean student body 😬

I’ve been enjoying making sourdough breads lately and it’s been awesome. I made some delicious cranberry harvest rolls and wowza, I will be making them again!

He’s liked stealing my hats lately and trying them on 😂

We got some epic snow at the beginning of the week! I loved it and Stetson was fascinated!

That shelf is cleaned out for a reason 😅

Oh the joys of whipped cream cans

Bubbles = happiness

We finally got him some boots and he realized he can stomp around without getting cold! He LOVES it and screams whenever I take him inside again 😂
