Hyde Happinesses

Hello hello there. The big news of this week is that Stetson took some great naps!! For those of you unaware, Stetson has been taking 20 minute naps for the past three months and I was about at my wits end. Then on Monday, he took a 2.5 hour nap in the morning and totally blew me away. I sat around all morning because I expected him to wake up at any minute. I also went into the nursery about 10 times to make sure he was okay 😂 then on Tuesday he took a 3.5 hour nap, and this time I was prepared! I cleaned the bathrooms, did the laundry, gave Oakley a bath and trimmed her paws, prepped for dinner and did the dishes. It was one of the most liberating mornings I’ve had in awhile 😅 now he’s evening out at about 1.5 hours but I’ll take it! It allows me to get some things done and not stress too much! So that’s been absolutely delightful. I really do love it when he’s awake, just so we’re clear 😂 but sometimes it’s nice to have a minute to yourself.

We went to the lake yesterday which was fun. Considerably less fun with a small baby and sun-concerned mama but still fun. In the middle of the day we had a massive thunderstorm. There was lighting and thunder and it POURED. Oh my land it was nuts. It lasted for about 39 minutes. We were with some family friends and we all tried to huddle under the canopies. I thought it was  great fun.

Sleepy boy

He looks so big when he kneels

He loves FaceTiming anybody!

We played with jello and it was awesome

This was after not sleeping all night long. He thought it was a fun game to chat from about 2am-5am. Naps ✅ actual sleeping ❌

Have you ever seen a prettier pepper??

Just playin

Flake Fun

Well, the big events from the last couple of weeks were Robin & Rand's birthday and the 24th celebrations.

The birthday was a blast.  It is so fun to see how excited kids are with little things. Scott and I decorated a little on Saturday night and, anticipating a busy morning I set the table for breakfast.

Robin was the first one up and was delighted with the streamers and balloons.  Robin quote of the day: "Mom! Someone even set our table!"

When Rand got up we ate breakfast and then opened presents.

Rand: "who is this from?"

Me: "Mom and Dad"

Rand: " which ones?"

They had fun playing with their gifts until church time.  About 10:15 our power went out (10:30 church time) and when we got to the church it was pretty dark.  The bishop announced that we would take the sacrament and end the meeting.   That made for a bit of a weird day.  But later in the afternoon Randy, Dona, Katelyn (cousin) and the Packards (Bruce, Karen and Rex) came over for cake and ice cream.  It was a good day.

The pioneer day celebrations were fun, as usual.  The kids were more interested in the rodeo than in past years and cheered on the little cowboy on his shetland pony during the races and competitions. I kept thinking that Grant and Henry would have a blast doing the chicken chase and the money calf.  You are all welcome anytime you want to come and participate!  The parade was also lots of fun.

The chickens are starting to ramp up their egg production which the kids are really enjoying.

Glads to gladden  the heart

Always the little chef. She has my apron wrapped all the way around with measuring spoon and cup sticking out of the pocket.

Hyde Happinesses

Not a lot happened this week, but it was a good one nonetheless! Stetson has been sleeping a little better most days, and that makes the biggest difference in this tired mommas life!! We had fun going and picking blackberries and making jam this week. It is such a fun farm. When you come to visit, we will take you and pick whatever happens to be in season :) it was also Oakley’s birthday yesterday, so we celebrated her with some new toys (which she refuses to share with Stetson), and lots of treats. She’s a whole two years old and boy does she act like a teenager.

Crawling is hard work y’all

He loves being a bare boy

He doesn’t sleep on me very often anymore so this was a treat

He’s beginning to like food a little more lately. Or maybe he just likes making a mess.

😍😍😍

Best buddies

He LOVED the blackberries

Hyde Happinesses

First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELISE!!! Youre the best oldest sibling a family could ask for. We love you tons and tons!

Thank you for all the ideas and support of the soda shop!! We are very excited to get it up and running :) here are the latest ideas for a logo:

Let us know what you think!!

Stetson turned six months old this week! Super duper crazy. He is growing up so fast. He has started getting up on his hands and knees, graduating from his cute army crawl. He loves moving and really doesn’t stop. Ever. And he hasn’t been loving sleeping. I think we got about 4 hours of sleep between the three of us last night 😅

Oakley turns two on Saturday. Yes you are all invited and yes there will be cake.

Feet on the dash

Get ready mom, he says

All American Dude like his daddy, watermelon lover like his mommy

Seriously TOO CUTE

Also I saw this picture this week and really liked it. Whenever I’ve thought of the Savior going after The One, I always pictured Him just moseying along, stopping for lunch along the way. But this depicts a Rushing Savior, hurrying to find the lost one who needs Him. I loved it.

Flake Fun

Fun with oobleck- cornstarch and water

There is Daddy!

The "cage" for the big bad wolf - they piled all the cushions and blankets that they could find as well as their bikes, books and toys on top. No way that he can escape that!

The first egg!

Our first gladiolus bouquet

Well, we have really ramped up the heat to the mid 90's.  Don't worry, we're heading for triple digits this week.  It has wiped me out.  Outside play has to end by 11 if not earlier most days so we are getting a bit stir crazy to say the least. But we pulled out the Oobleck recipe this week and now the house has weird cornstarch designs all over.  The hose and tub have been on a lot.

The exciting news of the week was that we got our first chicken egg yesterday and another one today.  We need our chickens to take it up  notch though because one egg a day just doesn't cut it for 3 eager egg gatherers! Scott says he is hesitant to eat the eggs because they are $150 eggs! Always the accountant!

We are excited about the Hyde's new venture and we know they will do a great job! We also can't wait to see them in august!

We are praying that senorita Manning stays put for at least another couple of weeks even though we  can't wait to meet her!

Love you all!

Hart Happenings

 Hello all!

Wasn't Nauvoo epic?  My boys still talk about the things we saw and did there.  Thanks everyone for being so great and contributing to good memories for our family.  It was just such a treat to visit and play with you all.  I also really liked the Life 360 app and tracking everyone on their journeys there and home.  So glad we're related!

Looks like it has finally decided to be summer.  We had a crazy cool June with it breaking 80 only once.  July promises to crank it up in the head department and we are planning trips to the lake and the local park fountain while Peter is lobbying for a pool in the backyard.

We enjoyed a pretty mild 4th of July this week.  I wasn't feeling well but Ian was in the parade for the theater that he works with, Alex and the boys went to the breakfast that Alex's brother hosts every year.  Ian was working the soda truck at the Menan celebration (a little farming community just north of us) so we went with Alex's sister and her daughter who were here up there to see him and see what the festivities were like in Menan.  So quaint and fun! We actually ran into a number of people who we knew and just missed Ruth who was also there for the car show a little earlier in the day.  We met Ian's boss and her family which was really fun.  Great people.  The fireworks show was spectacular as usual.  It was pretty windy and started to rain and we were kind of nervous that they were going to have to cancel the show but they just postponed it for about 20 minutes and the weather calmed down enough that we got cleared by the fire marshal to go ahead with things.  Such an amazing show!

A couple of other things of note:  We went to Portland for a Spikeball tournament where Jack and his partner, Curtis, actually went undefeated the whole day and were granted premier status which Jack has been working towards for about a year.  It was very exciting!  He is the youngest semi-pro Spikeball player in the world.  To make it even cooler, Alex competed in Salt Lake a few weeks before that and also got premier with is partner, Jake, which made him the oldest semi-pro Spikeball player in the world.  So we have the distinction of having the oldest and youngest semi-pro players in the same family.  Kinda wild!

I know most of you received the video that Peter sent out about his new robot friend.  What he didn't tell you was that he has been saving for months and months to purchase this robot.  I have been impressed by his frugality, hard work, and single-mindedness about it and was happy when the day arrived for him to make the purchase.

Ian was invited to sing with Kirby Heyborne (a LDS actor) at a theater in Rexburg, Idaho this week and a karaoke event.  We went to watch and it was so fun.  Karaoke is a riot, but Ian was a hoot.  He sang Lost in the Woods from Frozen 2 (in honor of Hope  - she and Ian have sung it together so many times) and had us all laughing one minute and blown away the next.  Such a fun experience.  I will try to get Alex to send it to you all.

We are so excited for the Hydes to come visit next month.  We can't get enough of that cute family.  The Harts are massively in favor of the soda shack concept that Cam and Emma have come up with and can't wait to see it unfold and will try really hard not to be annoying throwing ideas around and such.

It's been long enough since I wrote on the blog that I can't really remember what I might have forgotten in the time that has elapsed.  I am almost done with the book that Dad and Mom gave us at the reunion and hope that you guys have read it too because I'd really like to talk to someone(s) about it!

Love you all!

And Ian got a haircut!
