Hyde Happinesses

Hello all! It was so  great to be able to see most of you while in Utah. T and Tori, we’ll have to catch you next time. It was a blast to catch up and laugh a lot and chat some more. Stetson learned how to crawl on our trip and has been happy to be home and moving all over the place. He’s also seven months now!! Such a big kiddo. Emi Bennett’s wedding was so nice. She was a beautiful bride and her husband seems really nice. I also made nice with Joe Palmer. He’s actually a really nice guy who just made a little girl very sad one day, but I think I’ve forgiven him. For those of you who care, he works for Wabash and live in Indiana with his wife, Heather Hinkson (they knew each other in high school). Good times.

Thanks for all the fun memories! We had a blast with you guys and hope to not be strangers :) thanks again!

He was a champ on the flights!! Made friends with everyone and was sooooo good the whole time

First time with the bean bag. ✅

Emma Zook and hubby met us as the fair so we could chat for a minute.

Hyde Happinesses

Hi all :) first of all, big congrats to the Mannings and their cute baby girl!! I can’t wait to see more pictures of her!! Gotta tell you though, it’s tough being the youngest because when it gets your turn to name your kids, your siblings may or may not have stolen your favorite baby names πŸ˜‚ truthfully, Jane was at the top of our girl names list, but I’m glad someone used it well! In the off chance that we ever have a girl (or another baby lol), we will have to find a good runner up name :)

Absolutely nothing worth noting happened this week. Stetson slept in until 9am a few of the days, making for a crazy start to the day πŸ˜… you know you’re a mom when the “crazy” thing that happened to you is your baby actually sleeping. Good times.

We have been enjoying our garden immensely. I love love love our tomatoes, and Stetson gets a kick out of sucking the juice out of our cherry tomatoes and getting it all over his face and clothes. So fun! It’s actually awesome to feed your baby something that you grew and that you know everything about as far as what’s in it. Very rewarding I must say.

We are getting so excited to come to Utah!! I’m really grateful we were able to make it work. I can’t believe Emi Bennett is getting married (soon to be Emilee Palmer). It will be so fun to be at her wedding and to get to hear dad do a sealing :) I’m looking forward to seeing you all! Stetson might have some teeth come through while we’re there, and who knows, he may start walking. I wouldn’t be too surprised honestly.

Well, I love you all! Have a great week!

He’s always so happy when he wakes up! I was thinking about it, and I could probably count on one hand the amount of times he’s actually cried when he’s woken up!

Already helping me out

I really can’t get enough of him

This makes me laugh every time πŸ˜‚ it’s tough being a little guy!

This might be the only picture he and I have together πŸ˜‚

He’s so big

He was not a fan of the live band at dinner. He never snuggles like this.

Hyde Happinesses

Hello hello there. The big news of this week is that Stetson took some great naps!! For those of you unaware, Stetson has been taking 20 minute naps for the past three months and I was about at my wits end. Then on Monday, he took a 2.5 hour nap in the morning and totally blew me away. I sat around all morning because I expected him to wake up at any minute. I also went into the nursery about 10 times to make sure he was okay πŸ˜‚ then on Tuesday he took a 3.5 hour nap, and this time I was prepared! I cleaned the bathrooms, did the laundry, gave Oakley a bath and trimmed her paws, prepped for dinner and did the dishes. It was one of the most liberating mornings I’ve had in awhile πŸ˜… now he’s evening out at about 1.5 hours but I’ll take it! It allows me to get some things done and not stress too much! So that’s been absolutely delightful. I really do love it when he’s awake, just so we’re clear πŸ˜‚ but sometimes it’s nice to have a minute to yourself.

We went to the lake yesterday which was fun. Considerably less fun with a small baby and sun-concerned mama but still fun. In the middle of the day we had a massive thunderstorm. There was lighting and thunder and it POURED. Oh my land it was nuts. It lasted for about 39 minutes. We were with some family friends and we all tried to huddle under the canopies. I thought it was  great fun.

Sleepy boy

He looks so big when he kneels

He loves FaceTiming anybody!

We played with jello and it was awesome

This was after not sleeping all night long. He thought it was a fun game to chat from about 2am-5am. Naps ✅ actual sleeping ❌

Have you ever seen a prettier pepper??

Just playin

Flake Fun

Well, the big events from the last couple of weeks were Robin & Rand's birthday and the 24th celebrations.

The birthday was a blast.  It is so fun to see how excited kids are with little things. Scott and I decorated a little on Saturday night and, anticipating a busy morning I set the table for breakfast.

Robin was the first one up and was delighted with the streamers and balloons.  Robin quote of the day: "Mom! Someone even set our table!"

When Rand got up we ate breakfast and then opened presents.

Rand: "who is this from?"

Me: "Mom and Dad"

Rand: " which ones?"

They had fun playing with their gifts until church time.  About 10:15 our power went out (10:30 church time) and when we got to the church it was pretty dark.  The bishop announced that we would take the sacrament and end the meeting.   That made for a bit of a weird day.  But later in the afternoon Randy, Dona, Katelyn (cousin) and the Packards (Bruce, Karen and Rex) came over for cake and ice cream.  It was a good day.

The pioneer day celebrations were fun, as usual.  The kids were more interested in the rodeo than in past years and cheered on the little cowboy on his shetland pony during the races and competitions. I kept thinking that Grant and Henry would have a blast doing the chicken chase and the money calf.  You are all welcome anytime you want to come and participate!  The parade was also lots of fun.

The chickens are starting to ramp up their egg production which the kids are really enjoying.

Always the little chef. She has my apron wrapped all the way around with measuring spoon and cup sticking out of the pocket.
